ASID Student, NKBA Student

Rachel Best is an award-winning interior design student with a passion for kitchen and bath design. As a member of Johnson County Community College’s Student Design Team for the Kansas City Symphony Alliance’s 54th Designers’ Showhouse, her team earned a 2025 Heartland Design Excellence Award – Gold for Student Residential Interior Design. She continued her professional development by participating in the 55th Designers’ Showhouse as an intern and mentee. Beyond her design work, Rachel has demonstrated leadership as Vice President of the Johnson County Community College Interior Design Student Association (IDSA) and as IDSA’s ASID President, where she collaborated with peers, faculty, and local professionals to plan events that fostered student engagement within the design community. A multiple scholarship recipient from Johnson County Community College, Rachel has demonstrated academic excellence throughout her educational journey and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society – Alpha Iota Gamma Chapter.
